Shiraz is the reason we’re here.
Long before Ministry of Clouds existed, it was Shiraz that was the pillar of Australian wine success.
Yet over time we found ourselves searching for something increasingly difficult to find. We had admired the great vineyards of McLaren Vale, but often longed for wines that spoke more clearly of place. Wines with fragrance before weight, freshness before power and tannin before sweetness.
Ministry of Clouds grew from that search.
Our Shiraz is picked across multiple harvest dates with earlier picks highlighting brightness, acidity and perfume. Later parcels contribute depth, texture and quiet generosity.
Grown on the ancient fractured rock of The Chase, this wine reflects our belief that Shiraz can be simultaneously both generous and restrained, distinctly Australian while remaining finely balanced and deeply food focused.
In many ways, this wine challenges us to chasing the Shiraz that first made us fall in love with wine.
