2024 Ministry of Clouds
Spice Garden Grenache

Some vineyards whisper. Others speak with quiet certainty.

The deep sands of Blewitt Springs have become synonymous with some of Australia’s most captivating Grenache, produce Grenache of remarkable fragrance and finesse, where gentle tannins and lifted aromatics seem built upon an unmistakable foundation of place.

Any vineyard planted in 1939 asks firstly for patience, rewarding careful observation rather than heavy handed intervention, and Spice Garden is our attempt to honour that conversation.

Gentle extraction, careful maturation and thoughtful blending allow the vineyard to remain unmistakably itself, elegant, restrained and deeply expressive, it reflects one of McLaren Vale's most distinctive landscapes.

The greatest vineyards rarely shout.

  • "Wild red berries, sour cherry and tart cranberry, white pepper, with a ferrous core, some black cherry evolving with air. Campari, kirsch, a red rosé vermouth vibe, but the good artisan stuff, nothing dried out or tired here. An incredibly compelling expression, painted in lighter tones, and one that rewards patience."

  • “The wine is aromatically red fruited… this is darker and deeper than Silk & Stone… This is an excellent wine, truly."
